Wow it has sure been a while since I wrote on here. I guess that tells you what life has been life. Well for starters I am not living in Tennessee anymore. What a roller coaster ride that was. The job I had turned out to be a bad situation. I felt like my precious nursing license was in jeopardy every day. Not a great start for my nursing career. I did meet some wonderful people who made my time in Manchester memorable and fun. Well the job got to where I couldn't do it anymore and I called my mom and told her I was done. So my Mom, Dad, and I all decided that it would be best for me to move to Hattiesburg. I had no job, I still had a contract for my apartment and yet I was not worried. Not one bit. I knew that I would find something and that it would all work out. Well a couple days before I moved my landlord asked me if i would like to sell my contract instead of just paying it out. Uh hello! Yes please! Not only did it answer a prayer it saved me over $1000. I am all about that! And that is only one of the miracles. The biggest miracle of all was how I got my job that I love now. When I decided to quit i applied for jobs at two hospitals. I got a call within a couple days from one of them and never heard from the other. The one I heard from was a PRN (as needed) position on a telemetry floor. I called and said I was coming to visit for a weekend and would like to meet with someone. I went down and met with HR. Interview one passed. She asked how much longer I would be here. I told them I would be going back on a day later. She said "Well lets go try and see if we can catch the manager and get your next interview done" I waited and waited and she had been called into an emergency meeting. Dang. So I went back to good ole Manchester. Not even a day after I got back mt manager called me. She said she felt bad that she couldn't meet with me. She told me that she was very interested with meeting me as soon as I got to Hattiesburg. And then I moved. I called her within two days of being home. She set up a meeting for the next day. I went in and she said "So do you want a full time position?" I was floored. I said um yes please. MIRACLE. not only did I get a full time position at the hospital I wanted i got a $4 an hour pay raise! Yes please!
So that is where I have been. I still love my job. I love taking care of hearts :) I love when I can see a patient getting better, and I love when I know that the things I am doing are actually making them better. I have loved being here to help my mom survive her first semester of nursing school. I still hate care plans but I think she hates them even more than I do. haha I can't wait to see what 2013 brings for me. I have high hopes. :)
